Covid 19 Update

Great News!

Welsh Government Regulations

On 19th June 2020, the Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford announced that the tourism industry could once again prepare to receive visitors from 13 July 2020.   He did warn however, that as the risk from Covid 19 was not at an end, we would have to do things a little differently this year.

We ask that you follow the Welsh Governments rules at all times.   Please note that these may differ from those you are used to in either England or Scotland.   The current rules for Wales can be found here.

Health and Safety

The health and safety of our staff and customers remains our number one priority.   Therefore, we have implemented a number of additional control measures which are detailed below.   Please ensure that all members of your party are familiar with these prior to arrival.

Refund Policy

We are now taking bookings for 13 July onwards, in the event that we are unable to honour your booking due to either a national lockdown for Covid 19, or a local lockdown in Pembrokeshire, direct bookings will be eligible for a full refund.  Please note that you should seek your own travel insurance for requiring self-isolation arising from the test, trace and protect regulations as this falls outside our refund policy.

Please check T&Cs when booking via an agent.

Birtwick Park Campsite

Birtwick Park Onsite Camping Facilities

In accordance with the Welsh Governments announcement on 10 July, we are delighted that our toilet and shower block will be open to campers from 25 July.   However, they will be closed during deep cleaning and disinfection.  Some sinks in the toilets and the washing up area will be out of use to ensure social distancing.      Hand sanitiser will be available for use upon entry to the building.

For those campers who do not own their own facilities, we have a limited number of pitches with in situ, sole use, toilet tents complete with cassette toilet.

Please note that for health and hygiene reasons you will be required to leave the cassette empty on departure (as you would were it your own).   To encourage compliance, failure to do so will result in a hefty £50 emptying fee being charged to your card.

Social Distancing

We are fortunate at Birtwick Park to enjoy large pitches, our smallest being approx. 11m x 11m  and our extra large pitches a whopping 14m x 11m!   However, to ensure the maximum distance between accommodation units and to facilitate social distancing, this year it will be necessary to arrange accommodation units on the far right of the pitch with cars to the left.

Contactless Check-in

Mobile telephone numbers must be supplied at the time of booking and check-in instructions (including pitch number and location) will be supplied via text message, the day prior to arrival.

Glenside Cottage

Contactless Check-in

Mobile telephone numbers must be supplied at the time of booking and check-in instructions will be provided, the day prior to arrival.

Although we have tried to accommodate early check in requests in the past, in order to perform thorough cleaning and disinfection between guests check in is strictly not before 3pm at this time.

Cleaning

Prior to your arrival the cottage will be thoroughly cleaned and surfaces disinfected.   Glenside cottage boasts a fully equipped kitchen and additional dishwasher tablets have been supplied, should you wish to put any items you may use through a hot wash prior to use.

Hot Tub

Every effort will be made to ensure that the hot tub is up to temperature for your arrival.

To facilitate this, the hot tub will not be available to after 7:30 pm on the day of departure to allow draining down, thorough cleaning, refilling, chemical treatment and reheating.

As always, the hot tub is checked and treated daily, however, whilst we generally try to do this whilst guests are out, we recognise that guests may spend less time out and about at this time, and it may be necessary to perform these checks whilst you are home.

Departures

Although we have tried to accommodate requests for late check out previously, to allow for sufficient air changes prior to our cleaning staff commencing, check out is strictly by 10 am at this time.

For the safety of our cleaning staff, we ask if you would kindly assist us with the following prior to departure.

  • Please strip the bed and pillows and place the used bed linen in the laundry basket in the bedroom.

  • Please place all towels and tea towels, even those you did not use, in the laundry basket provided.

  • Please open all the windows to assist ventilation.

  • Please reset the room thermostat to 18 degrees.
